Have you ever wondered what “God’s Will” is for your life? Is there something more you should be doing for the Kingdom of Christ? What is your calling?

If you are a Christian….you are a disciple of Christ. Jesus told his disciples to “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” Mark 16:15 (NIV). Does that mean we are all “preachers” or “missionaries?”
In Romans chapter 12, Paul is preaching to the church about “Living Sacrifices.” In verse 4 – 8 (NIV) he said, “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”

Every child of God has a calling to promoting the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whether it is by teaching, preaching, prophecy, or simply being a living testimony. So, how do you figure out what your “gift” is or what God’s Will is for your life?

If you back up to Romans 12:1-2, Paul also said, “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

It’s really that simple. Just give yourself completely to God and let Him transform you. He will show you what His will is for you. Remember we are all created differently from our Father and He has given each of us unique talents and abilities. I believe He wants to use those talents and abilities in your life to promote His Gospel! What are your hobbies? What things do you enjoy doing? What things are you good at? What are your talents? Now, how can these things be used to promote the Gospel?

Advance...

This is a word that God gave my pastor a few weeks ago for our church. It is amazing to me what God has been doing in my life personally to help me to “advance.” First, you really need to know where I come from and about some of the painful experiences I have gone through. I will share more about this later, but God has been bringing Spiritual Healing to me this past year and now He is preparing me to Move Forward!

Last Monday night, we attended the 2009 Knox Section Breakthrough Service and it was Awesome! It was like a refreshing of my spirit and God spoke to me and said “It’s time….forget the past….move forward.” On Tuesday night, I was coming home from work and started playing a CD that James had in the truck. I scrolled through the CD to see if there were any songs on there that I knew. I didn’t know any of the songs, but the music to one song kind of sounded familiar. Our Praise and Worship Team has been working on a new song and since James is playing the drums, he has been listening to this song a lot. I can’t understand the words to songs that I don’t know so I haven’t really paid much attention to it. As I listened to this song, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! The words sounded much like the words that God had spoken to me the night before at the Breakthrough service. When I got home, I just sat in the truck listening to the song trying to determine if I was hearing what I thought I was hearing. James was at practice and I sent him a text and told him I needed the words to that song. I cannot wait to hear our Praise & Worship Team sing this…
